Love it or hate it bet you cannot ignore it- Leslee Udwin’s documentary India’s Daughter!
Udwin says, "On 5th August the Delhi High Court will decide whether to lift the ban on India’s Daughter. I am still optimistic that the independent judiciary of India will give a just ruling in the matter that will enable India to fully participate in this world movement for change. After all, India led the world by example with the inspiring and courageous calls of its men and women protesters following the Nirbhaya rape, and should once again take its place as world leader on the urgent and unfinished business of respect, safety, autonomy, and rights for women and girls.”
The documentary that throws light on heinous crime on women and leaves an impactful message on women’s safety has now also been shortlisted for the Grierson Awards, one of the world’s most prestigious documentary awards. It has bagged the nomination under- Best Documentary on a Contemporary theme in the International category.India’s Daughter is one of the eight shortlisted documentaries in the International Category, which will then be judged for a final four nominations, in each category.
